They say the best relationships are the ones you never saw coming. It is true in our case. We were best friends right from college and coincidentally happened to work together. We had this natural connection due to like mindset and similar interests. Even when the distance between us grew farther when he left to US for studies, our friendship grew stronger. Our parents even assigned us the task of finding bride and groom for each other on matrimonial sites, as we knew better what the other person wanted in a life partner.
When our biggest concern in marriage was whether it would limit our friendship, we realized we were much more important in each other’s lives. He took the first step by paying a surprise visit to India and proposing me in our favorite spot. Although I took a while to accept his proposal, our parents gave their blessings immediately.
When the marriage preparations started, we wanted our wedding card to illustrate our journey of 8 years together and Kards did exactly that with the invite.
First step into the wedding arrangements was booking Harsha Gardens as our venue. One look at their beautiful lawn and lightings, anybody would fall in love with it. If you want to have an outdoor set-up at their lawn, make sure it’s not on a rainy season though (Personal experience!)
I got all my silk sarees from Kanchipuram’s Prakash Silks and A.S. Babu Sah. My reception gown was from Diadem. I got my gold jewels from GRT and diamond jewels from Joyalukkas T. Nagar.
Ishithaa did a brilliant job with my blouses. Deepika listened to all my inputs and came up with amazing designs. She even collaborated with my husband to surprise me with concept blouses.
Choosing Zero Gravity Photography was one of the easiest decisions as we both were big admirers of their work. They were highly professional and perfectly captured our most cherished moments. Wedding decorations were by Vermilion events.
Booking Make up Ibrahim was the best decision of all. He has a touch of magic and knows what suits you best without you having to say anything. He was so friendly and made sure I was confident and smiling during my shoots. He is the best makeup artist in town undoubtedly.
We have been happily married for 4 months now. I can vouch that marrying your best friend might turn out to be the best decision of your life. We went to Maldives and then Costa Rica for our honeymoon. France and Italy are the next stops on our honeymoon spree.
Tips to soon-to-be brides:
– If possible, try to finish all the shopping at least a month before the wedding to relax and enjoy the rest of days with family and friends.
– Get your beauty sleep. Sleeping on time and for minimum 8 hours is a must.
– Do not stress too much with the facial treatments. It’s better to not try anything new closer to the big day.
– Drink plenty of water and carrot juice to get the natural glow.
– Most important of all, remember to have fun during your big day, even if few things are not going down as planned. All the best to making the best of memories with your loved ones!!!
