While it has certainly become a fashion for someone in their adolescence to wear a toe ring, it’s generally considered a symbol of a woman’s marital status. Toe rings are worn at the time of wedding where the groom places it on the bride’s toe and it is said to symbolize that the man is falling at the feet of his wife thereby placing the respect of his family under her feet and it is therefore the duty of the bride to take care of it throughout their life.
